I should play hooky
Well, two weeks of hanging out with the family officially come to a close tomorrow morning when I go back to the daily grind at work.
It was not a fun vacation in the sense we went to Disney Land, but it was fun spending time with the kids (trying to give Golan kids a healthy diet, getting the kids dressed, wiping running noses, etc.) and welcoming in the new little guy - Yair Nissim.
And going back tomorrow morning, I'm sure this thought will surface in my head around 10 minutes into the drive: play hooky.
That's right, call in sick!
Because around 10 minutes down the rode from where I live is the entrance to the Yehudiya Forest Nature Reserve - probably the best nature park in Israel. Located in the central Golan just south of Qaztrin, this park is home to Nahal Yehudiya and Nahal Zavitan (and some others that I can't remember), and has the best hikes that Israel has to offer - and Israel has plenty!
I can picture it now, spend the morning on a wonderful winter hike to clear my head and then spend the afternoon with the kids.

BTW, just to stop the rumors... I don't plan on doing this, i.e. play hooky... but I do plan on doing these hikes soon...

Sorry i missed these posts -- was out of the office for the long Martin Luther King holiday weekend. You should have explaine dtaht to your boss, that a san American you needed this past Sunday AND Monday off.
