In the summer of 2006, I moved with my family to the Golan Heights, the northeastern most region in Israel. Growing up in Long Island and immigrating to Israel in the 1990s, I have lived most of my life in suburbia; however, at the young age of 28, I embarked on a new chapter of life, a new adventure, a new type of living – country livin’. Light the Hanuka candles; but where?

Don't worry – we found a place for all of our Hanuka candles.

But, that was exactly what Chave and I were discussing yesterday morning. And with less than 10 hours to candle lighting time, we were searching high and low for an answer.

And logic dictates that if it worked out last year, then light them in the same spot again. I.e., if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I have a glass box that allows me to light the Hanukia (Menora) outside on the front porch – so that was a no brainer. However, last year, Chave and Hadas lit candles inside the home (and this year, Natan is lighting, too), but we just could not remember where.

Well, it was a good thing that we were discussing it openly because Hadas' ears were well within listening range. She's turning five next month and is truly blessed with a memory like an elephant. And good for us, because she turned around and clearly explained where we lit and then went into details of how we placed silver foil beneath the Hanukias.

Thanks Hadas.

Oh, and thank Oh Nuts!, too. They're offering Go Golan readers a 10% discount on all Hanukah items. Click here (www.ohnuts.com) and remember to use HBP1118 as your promotion code... and if you want to send me some goodies send me an email, and I'll let you know where to send it!
